An article on the website Smart Property Investment talks about the strengthening housing sector even as home renovation figures begin to falter. During the second quarter, total value of additions and renovations for residential properties fell by 2.4%.
The construction sector, on the other hand, is gaining places steadily and the cumulative value for residential buildings has hiked by 2.2% over the last quarter and 9.6 over the last year. Noticeable is the return to form of the detached houses. They have led the way in the June quarter unlike the March quarter when apartments had clearly called the shots.
