Which room is the most important one that buyers focus on when they determine if they like a home or not? And, perhaps more surprisingly, which type of room is considered not important by the vast majority of people, both men and women?
I found the answer in a new article in the real estate section of news.com.au.
The Kitchen is the Most Important Room
As you may have guessed by the title of the article, the kitchen is the most important room in a house to most people. Overall 49% said the kitchen was most important to them when deciding if they liked a home or not. 57% of women and 37% of men voted this way. 56% of Men preferred the living area while only 24% of women considered it most important.
So if you are thinking of selling your home, have a good look at your kitchen as it is likely to be the focal for the majority of your would-be buyers. But even if you aren’t thinking of selling your home – the quality of living in a home with a wonderful kitchen certainly makes a difference. The kitchen is a focal point in any home. We all need it and tend to congregate in it.
Most People Don’t Worry About the Bedrooms
Interestingly, both men and women agreed that the bedrooms are the least significant rooms when it comes to choosing a home.
So even if you are male and (statistically) are more likely to favour the living room; just think how happy you will make your wife with a beautiful kitchen. Many times my work involves designing a new kitchen and creating spaces that enhance not just the kitchen, but the adjoining living areas as well. After all, none of these areas exist in isolation.
