You may have encountered people living in houses with small rooms that seem like hovels; and those people too whose rooms are small but delightful. Presentation matters whether it is business or your house and a little trickery is never going to harm your apple tree. So, go for concepts, innovate while you go for home renovation, typically when you have to think of small room designing.
Keep the setting minimal
The first thing to play with is space. Rooms are small so the one constricting feeling is always going to be space. You can start by non-cluttering the rooms and finding other spaces for storage. Wall cabinets, curtained alcoves or other spaces that emerge out of nowhere should be capitalized on. It does not help if your treadmill or your disheveled clothes are the only things that hit the visitor’s eye.
Create an illusion of space
Create space or an illusion of space by creating a symphony of colors. Neutral color (beige, cream or peach), green or blue, when done on the entire room, gives the beholder a sameness of thoughts. Go for minimal small room designing and use wooden furniture for a spark. Ensure that there is sufficient moving space.
Lighting is an important factor
Lighting is another important consideration. A huge chandelier is never a wise idea for a small room. Accent lights, can and track lights are better, but the room should anyhow be well-illuminated. Take succor from reflective mirrors which will do a suitable job when the Sun is on. A couple of fans should be a good arrangement, if you are too-tight-budgeted for an air conditioner.
The facing wall may carry a cute painting by your kid or an all-encompassing montage. You can otherwise insert murals or wainscoting to give a bright definition to your home design. Ancient wooden cabinets by its side containing a swift collection of books always tend to grab attention.
Do not elaborate window design
You may go for shutters or blinds but never resort to beautifully crafted windows, especially in small rooms. They are plausible meriting points for huge houses and rooms, but seem out-of place when the room is otherwise constricted. The motto is to keep your house clean, minimal, eye-catching and yet functional.
