If you suffer from allergies, bronchial problems or asthma, Sick Building Syndrome can be a cause of much ado for you. While you can still feel happy about the restrictions imposed on asbestos and the phasing-out of lead paints, poor indoor air quality can propose a real hassle for you. Keeping this in mind let me take you through a few tips which can pave way for allergy-resistant homes (and I mean each room).

What Measures To Take Against Weather Excesses
Life is such a beautiful thing that we hardly have a right to complain when it shows its ugly face. The “ugly face” of life is amplified when nature wreaks havoc on us. There is no dearth of instances when bushfires, hailstorms or powerful winds have sent our whole lives into disarray.
This being said, the damage can be appreciably reduced if we take pre-emptive measures wherever possible and stick to common sense in other cases.

All You Need To Know About The Dangers Of Lead Poisoning
I am sure we all know about the effect of lead on drinking water. To our credit, we keep being cautious in this respect, at least to the best of our capacity. However, as nature would have it, lead does not only pollute our drinking water but it contaminates our wall paints too- often, with dire consequences. Mandatory Swimming Pool Registration for NSW is Now Online
I previously wrote about the new swimming pool regulations for NSW that are now in force.
While swimming pool owners need to comply with the new safety regulations, councils are asked to conduct random checks to make sure that these are followed.
The NSW government has just launched the www.swimmingpoolregister.nsw.gov.au swimming pool registration website where owners need to register their swimming pools. If you own a pool, you must register by the 29th of October 2013. Be sure to do sure in order to avoid penalties.
The new site also provides the exact guidelines you must follow.
Register now at https://www.swimmingpoolregister.nsw.gov.au.
New Swimming Pool Regulations for Pool Owners in NSW
The Australian government has imposed new and stricter swimming pool regulations to pool owners. Each year 60 children are admitted to hospital following near-drowning accidents in NSW. These new regulations have been put in place with the goal is to decrease the rate of accidents and ideally eliminate them completely.
Improved Safety for Home Windows
Safer windows required at home
I recently read an article that talks about the alarming rate at which children fall each year from windows of multi-storey buildings. It begins with a chilling line “How many more children must plunge off second storey – or higher – buildings before action is taken?” The article certainly raises a valid point while blaming parents and building developers equally for such accidents. Home windows have weak flyscreens that fail to bear the weight of children. In addition, houses use faulty windows that are locked open beyond 12.5 centimetres.
