What will living in your home be like 30 years from now? Carolyn Boyd from Domain.com.au has made a few interesting predictions as to how your home will look like and function in 2042.
The key predictions include the total integration of technology to walls, furnitures and fixtures, sustainable and environment-friendly multi-purpose living space, and adaptable smaller buildings with more communal facilities to encourage social interactions.
Boyd specifically stresses that by 2042 you’ll be living in a multi-use space with moving panels and walls. Video streaming and conferencing will even be integrated to windows, tabletops, and other fixtures. Although some may find it interesting to have remote control curtains, others just don’t like to idea of having more communal facilities. The future of housing seems really fascinating with all the combination of great architectural design and innovative technology.
Personally, I want a quiet stress-free life away from people. These changes may or may not happen in just a span of 30 years but we do have some exciting changes to look forward to.
