While the Sun whetted our appetite, giving us the most primeval example of radiant heating, we have begun to narrow down the concept for residential and commercial use only now. I agree that the temperatures in Sydney might not reach close to freezing point in winter but keeping your warm resources geared up is certainly the right way to go. Radiant heating techniques are just those kinds of resources.
Radiant heating
Radiant heating uses heat sources beneath floors, behind walls and above ceilings to emanate heat and give you a warm, cozy feeling. Such type of heating is a smart bet when compared to convection heating and can hold us good even in confined outdoor premises.
It’s present in its absence
There is a beautiful phrase “its presence is conspicuous in its absence”. This is just so true for radiant heating. Its beauty lies in the fact that we fail to perceive it for long hours. It keeps working in a quiet, eased out way and yet the effect is there for the homeowner to see.
Energy-efficient heating
Another high point is its energy-efficiency and subsequent cost savings that it can bring about. Its energy efficiency is more than partly attributable to absence of leak-prone ductworks. In fact, many users have confided in me how the warmth lingers in the home long after the system is put off use.
Even heat distribution
You would have witnessed forced air-systems unevenly distributing heat in homes. Consequently, many hot and cold spots come into the reckoning. This is certainly not the case with radiant heating which warms the whole home uniformly.
Many of us can vouch for the near 10 degree temperature difference between floors and ceilings when convection heating is used. Such people among us will ‘warmly’ welcome the concept of radiant heating.
At MK Home Design, we will be most glad to design these features and coordinate the building processes for you. You can get in touch with us here.
