Irrespective of the money you pour into your home upgrade, it will fail to make an impact unless you weave it in sync with the immediate neighbourhood. The old designing gospel of “don’t get a blue roof if your neighbours have a beige one” rings so true for upgrades, too. Apart from that, you need to keep a close eye on the market trend, local preferences, and the geographical placement of your home.

Population Growth Fuels Housing Activity
Riding the wave of substantial population growth, the housing demand in Australia continues to increase. Tim Lawless for the Property Update reports that the population grew as much as 1.75% in the last quarter of 2012.
The number of Victorians and Queenslanders are increasing at a rapid rate, buoyed by overseas migration as well as lower mortality rate. Except Tasmania and South Australia, the trend has been observed over all the territories.
Lawless points out that a vast number of new dwellings will have to be constructed to accommodate the ever increasing number of residents.

Sydney Home Renovation: A Brand New Transformation
Anybody can think of a home renovation project as having some small home interior repairs or improvement. I think of it as the process of getting your home to be reborn.

How to Choose Your Home Builder
I firmly believe that home builders have a very important role in ensuring the success of my projects. I tend to use a number of specific criteria in choosing the home builder I pair with.

How to Create The Perfect Kitchen Lighting
Kitchens need to live up to their brightness but by the same token; the lighting also needs to live up to the kitchen standards. Today, we have no dearth of choices when we talk about kitchen lighting. However, the embarrassment of riches at our disposal also requires us to be at our toes (judgment-wise).

8 Tips You Must Follow For A More Harmonious Life
Jeff Haden for the magazine Inc. deciphers for us the mantra of higher office/life productivity. Here are a few tips for all of us.
- When you talk over phone to someone, make sure it is the only thing you are doing. Texting from or looking into your phone simultaneously can mean you have one well-wisher less next time.
- “Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work.” You must choose to act even if you feel that waiting gives you a better chance of success.
- Tell people who matter that they matter. Don’t stop even an inch short of saying so.
- Let past be your access port to wisdom. Access it for making the right moves but do not keep holding grudges from the past
- Don’t multi-task while you are engaged in solving a problem at home . Your undiluted attention will make you a winner each time. It is a surefire way to become better informed about the problem.
- A work that deserves being done deserves being done well (and without many breathing spaces in between)
- “Great minds discuss ideas, small minds discuss people.” At least do not discuss someone on his back. Go to him/her and talk it out directly. He/she has the first and only right to know what you think about him/her.
- Don’t say ‘Yes’ when what you really mean is ‘No’.
